1 December, 2014 – A 36 year old Public Service Vehicle driver, Bhusumane Mamba, couldn’t believe his luck when he won himself E700 worth of petrol for his kombi after answering correctly some questions on road safety.
At a brief stopover at Buhleni bus rank during the road safety awareness march held in the town on November 22, Road Safety Stakeholder Alliance asked several PSV drivers questions that ranged from road safety to road regulations.
Some of the questions that were asked included ascertaining knowledge on whether epileptic people were allowed to drive or not, naming any five documents that are required for a PSV driver to be on the road, and explaining how SMVAF claims are lodged.
Mamba answered all questions correctly and got himself the once in a lifetime prize of a full-tank fill up. He revealed that he has been driving a PSV for the past seven years, and he plies the Buhleni – Mhlume route. Meanw1hile, prizes worth over E5 000 were also given out during the road show.
