November 22, 2023The blue high way, blue signs and need for traffic etiquette!
November 22, 2023Some of the traffic accidents realized in traffic are a direct result of a mechanical breakdown of vehicles. This is a situation where the driver’s ability to control the car is compromised because it would have realized a failure here or there. People who own cars often times do not afford the costs of owning, maintaining and running a car. In simple language, they cannot afford to be on the road. Prior to the arrival of grey imports, many road users could afford second hand vehicles they would inherit without comprehending the history of the automobile. Now everyone, amasses enough cash to buy and own a car but very little can put up with the marathon of finances to ensure the car is not only running but also road worthy. This applies to both private and commercial vehicles which get exposed in the event an accident occurs. Such faults as worn out tyres, brake failures, engine jamming in the middle of a trip and a vehicle bursting up in flames are a direct indication of lack of resources to attend same promptly.
SERVICING A VEHICLE
Giving a vehicle prompt and proper service contributes meaningfully to its road worthiness and performance on the road. Whilst it is being serviced, there comes a chance to discover worn out parts and need for replacement and fixation for this and that. However, motorists prolong services of their vehicles or fail to do it properly. These are vehicles that can stall in the flow of traffic or fail to go up a steep and as a direct result freak accidents occur. A lot these vehicles would have come to the incumbent owners without service history and thus give them mechanical problems as soon as they own them. They would park on the road side whilst their owners are looking for help and potentially become a hazard that may cause unnecessary and avoidable accidents or it would be in the middle of the road causing a traffic jam. Following the problem closely one would discover that the owner would have not as yet be in a position to raise funds to give the car a proper service
TYRES AND BRAKES
For any car in motion, it is important that it has a good and even set of tyres. This will assist the driver to have it gripping in all sorts of road surfaces and different weathers especially when it rains. This is the most ignored aspect of the car. It is either the tyres are worn out smooth or have been bought as used material. They are mostly like to burst whilst the car is in full speed and cause untold damage in accident causation. Some vehicles bear uneven tyres where one brand is mixed with another and the balance of the car would be compromised. Good brakes should follow good tyres hence big vehicles have caused accidents wherein brake failure would have been identified as the major cause. Every vehicle must have a very good brake system so that the driver would have ultimate control of speeds, when and where it stops even if it were to be sudden. Commercial vehicles owners have been blamed to be culprits in not servicing, maintaining and keeping their vehicles road worthy.
TAKE AWAYS:
1. Develop a service habit and history for your car.
2. Invest in good and balanced tires.
3. Check your brakes regularly.
4. Look after your car engine so it never stalls.
5. Kill your speed or you will be killed or kill some one in traffic.
