Claimants and road accident victims alike will be delighted to know that the Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accidents Fund (SMVAF) will no longer wait for individuals to lodge a claim with the Fund in the occurrence of an accident.
This was disclosed by Fund Chief executive Officer (CEO) David Myeni during the commemoration of the Africa Road Safety Day breakfast meeting held at the Mountain Inn which was also graced by the Hon. Minister of Public Works and Transport who was represented by Minister of Sports, Youth and Culture Affairs Hon. Harried Bulunga.
Myeni informed all the road safety stakeholders present that the new Sincephetelo 2024 Strategy had implemented the introduction of a post-crash value chain, meaning that the Fund would deploy officers that would assist in the evacuation of accident victims from the accident scene, to ensuring that they receive the best medical care possible at the different health institutions in the country, all the way towards their rehabilitation and recovery and finally ensuring that they receive their compensation benefits duly.
Myeni highlighted this after previous speaker, Winile Dlamini who is also a victim of a horrendous motor vehicle traffic accident, had implored officers from the Fund to be proactive in their approach of assisting victims rather than waiting for the victim to recover before they can lodge a claim.
