SMVAF Hosts Men’s Day Focused On Health And Critical Issues Affecting Men
The SMVAF Male staff organized a Men’s Day at Mdolomba, focusing on men’s health and other critical issues impacting men. The event featured notable speakers who highlighted the importance of such gatherings for addressing challenges faced by men in society. SMVAF Corporate Services Executive, Sam Mzileni, emphasized the value of these events in encouraging men to take proactive roles in family care and personal well-being. He noted the societal focus on gender-based violence (GBV), advocating for a broader perspective on family-based violence to better address these issues comprehensively. A representative from the Eswatini Business Health also spoke on the subject of GBV, underscoring the significant impact of mental health issues on men. The representative highlighted the distressing trend of men suffering from mental health problems, which can lead to tragic outcomes such as suicide and violence against loved ones. SMVAF CEO, David Mfanimpela Myeni, encouraged the male staff to stay committed to their personal and professional paths. He referenced Proverbs 3:6, urging attendees to seek guidance in their decisions. Myeni advocated for the regular organization of such events to continuously inspire and support men in making informed and healthy choices. Lastly, Ncami, a nurse from Ekuphileni Clinic, addressed men’s health, stressing the importance of regular check-ups, particularly for prostate cancer. She encouraged men to take proactive steps in maintaining their health and well-being.
