December 18, 2025This morning, the Fund officially welcomed their newly appointed Chief Executive Officer, Khangaziwe Mabuza, in a formal staff meeting presided over by the Chairman of the Board, Zithulele Gina. The event marked an important milestone in the Fund’s leadership as it continues to advance its mission.
Gina, accompanied by Board members Ncobile Mngometulu and Xolani Ngwenya, expressed sincere appreciation to both the Board and the Executive Committee for their steadfast leadership during the period without a CEO, which extended since August. He commended the entire staff for maintaining professionalism and resilience throughout this transitional time, acknowledging that the process to appoint a CEO took longer than initially anticipated.
Introducing Mabuza, Gina highlighted her extensive experience and distinguished public service career. Having served at the Ministry of Finance, and served as a Principal Secretary at the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, and until today at the Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Mabuza brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership strength to the Fund. He described her as a hardworking, goal-driven leader with strong work ethics who motivates employees to thrive under her guidance. He urged all staff to extend their utmost respect and cooperation to the new CEO.
In her remarks, Mabuza expressed heartfelt gratitude for the warm reception and the opportunity to engage with staff directly. She emphasized that she arrives with “a blank paper and a pen,” ready and eager to learn the Fund’s operational intricacies to lead effectively. Reinforcing the Fund’s core mandate, she reiterated the commitment to compensating victims of road accidents and their dependents across Eswatini.
Mabuza also encouraged staff to cultivate gratitude both professionally and personally, fostering a culture of appreciation and collaboration. She highlighted the importance of embracing technology to propel the Fund forward in today’s digital era. Stressing professionalism, integrity punctuality, and passion, she called on employees to remain dedicated to their work and aligned with the policies that govern their functions.
Most importantly, Mabuza urged all to remember that their work is not about personal gain but about serving the clients who rely on the Fund. “Let us write a success-filled history together,” she said, inspiring the team to uphold their shared mission for the benefit of all Emaswati.
Following the staff meeting, Mabuza visited Ekuphileni Clinic, a subsidiary of the Fund, to familiarize herself with the clinic’s equipment and operational processes. This visit allowed her to gain valuable insight into how the clinic supports the Fund’s core business and enhances service delivery to its clients.
This new chapter under Mabuza’s leadership promises renewed energy, focus, and dedication to the Fund’s vital service to the community.
